Racists and fascists organised in PEGIDA are coordinated anti-migrant, anti-refugee and anti-Muslim protests across Europe, including the UK, where ex-EDL leader Tommy Robinson is hoping to build up a street force that will have abetter fortunes than the EDL. One PEGIDA leader has been publicly calling for refugees to be shot.
Refugees in Calais continue to face appalling treatment as this wee 1,000 face forced relocation as the French state sends in the bulldozers to demolish shelters. Across Europe violent attacks on migrants, refugees and Muslims are escalating, fuelled by the racist scapegoating by mainstream politicans.
This racism is not going unchallenged as people volunteer and send much needed supplies to refugees. Yet we need a poltical movement to isolate the racists and open the door to refugees to relieve their suffering.
We also need action against the racist attacks on Muslims who continue to face demonisitaion, including through the government's PREVENT strategy.
Oxford Unite Against Fascism is supporting the Europe wide marches on UN anti-racism day on March 19th. Last year more than 10,000 people joined the London demonstration. This year we want to get more people on the streets to challenge the racist tide. Come to the mobilising rally below to build the demonstration. Email back if you can spare an hour to leafelt a college or workplace.
We also need people to take posters for colleges, workplaces, community centres etc. Please mail back if you would like to help build the rally and demonstration.

The racist and fascist English Defence League is coming to Aylesbury on 10th October. They want to stir up race hatred against Muslims, migrants and refugees. They believe Aylesbury is a soft touch for their racist views - we need to prove them wrong.
The EDL is a racist group dedicated to attacking Asian people and Muslims. Islamophobia – bigotry against Muslims – is as unacceptable as any other form of racism. Today they threaten Muslims, tomorrow it could be Jewish people, Hindus, Sikhs, black people, LGBT people, Travellers or East Europeans.
The EDL has also attacked trade unionists, bookshops, and people protesting against austerity. Their fascism can become a threat to us all if left unchecked.
Last time the EDL came to Aylesbury the town centre closed down in an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. In the last 5 years the EDL has been challenged in every town and city it has raised it’s head by local people and supporters uniting against their fascism. As a result the EDL has shrunk , and they can barely muster a few hundred on a good day.
But we can’t be complacent that the EDL will simply go away. They need to be countered wherever they raise their heads to stop them growing again.
NO to the racist scapegoating of Mulsims, migrants and refugees
NO to Islamophobia
DON'T let the racists divide us
Unite Against Fascism calls on all opposed to racism and fascism to join us in protesting against the EDL to tell them they are not welcome in Aylesbury.
- NO to the intimidation of Aylesbury's Muslim community
- NO to Islamophobia
- NO to racist scapegoating of migrants and refugees
Assemble 11.30 outside HSBC bank, Market Square Aylesbury.
Don't let the EDL march unchallenged this Saturday.

UAF/LMHR: Auschwitz Educational Trip 13-17 November
UAF and Love Music Hate Racism are organising a trip to the Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz in Poland between the 13th and 17th November. We will be based in the historic city of Krakow which remains one of Central Europe’s gems and until the end of WW2 was one of the great Jewish centres in Europe.
The purpose of this trip is to develop a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and the Nazis and look at the threat of fascism today. The trip is open to everyone, but we are encouraging students, trade unionists and anti-racist activists in particular to attend. The cost of the trip is £200 or £160 for students/concessions. Please email info[at]uaf.org.uk for more information or if you can get your trade union branch to help sponsor the trip.
